The Greensboro Food Bank redistributes good, edible food that
would otherwise be discarded. Surplus food is salvaged from
grocers, wholesalers, and gardeners. Prepared and perishable
food is collected from local restaurants and caterers.

Each year more than 800,000 pounds of food are distributed
to Urban Ministry feeding programs and other non-profits that
serve the hungry.
