The Greensboro Urban Ministry Food Bank collects and redistributes good, edible food that would otherwise be discarded. Surplus food is salvaged from grocers, wholesalers, and gardeners. Prepared and perishable food is collected from local restaurants and caterers.

Each year more than 1.2 million pounds of food are distributed to Urban Ministry feeding programs and other non-profits that serve the hungry.
