By definition,
hunger is a condition in which adequate nutritional needs are
not being met. In assisting families and individuals with food,
we need to make available the foods which are nutritionally
adequate and provide information concerning dietary needs.
.
Greensboro Urban Ministry organizes major annual food drives
at local grocery stores and post offices. Each year, the food
drives have been more successful than in previous years. This
is due in large part to the support of the local grocery stores,
post offices, and WFMY News2.
Since 2001, we have experienced
a dramatic increased need for food for families. More than
1,190,232 million pounds of food was provided to needy families
in 2007.
